About Reaching for a Cure

Reaching for a Cure was founded in 2006 by family and friends following Paul Stepanian's diagnosis with Multiple Myeloma. We are a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to raising dollars for research hospitals including the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and for other fundraising organizations such as the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Either by raising funds directly or volunteering at other blood cancer events, our efforts and resources will be focused on ensuring that we close the gap between this disease and its cure.

We accelerated our fund raising efforts with the first annual Reaching for a Cure Gala event in the Spring of 2007 - raising over $200,000 for cancer research. The Gala fund raising effort builds on the momentum generated by a walk in the Spring of 2006 that raised $47,000 in donations.
